The Miami Heat flipped a switch they'd whiffed on the whole season. Oklahoma City looked like the No. 4 seed they are. In the 4th quarter of the game between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, the scored was all knotted up at 80. Any NBA fan has heard that this year the Heat have not been the best at closing out games - especially against elite opponents like the Celtics.

If you ask me, they're trying to make up for their Super Bowl performance. Actually (and to be completely fair) the Black Eyed Peas' free concert at Central Park's Great Lawn will benefit the Robin Hood Foundation’s mission to alleviate poverty in New York City. So, jokes aside, this is quite a show.

Parity is spreading through the NBA playoffs faster than the news of Osama bin Laden's death. Monday featured two more second round games. The first game of the night featured a No. 1 seed in the Chicago Bulls. The second game featured the No. 2 Los Angeles Lakers. Both lost.

The second round of the NBA playoffs is all ready to go. For the first time since 2007 - and only the second time ever - a No. 8 seed has beaten a No. 1 seed to move on to the second round. The series between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs appeared to moving in this direction from Game 1. The Grizzlies were bigger, faster and stronger than the aging Spurs team.

Thursday saw three more teams move into the second round of the NBA playoffs. There is now just one series yet to be decided. Game 6 between Memphis and San Antonio takes place Friday night.

The first series to end was the Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes. The Red Wings swept a team that was uncertain of its own future in the Coyotes. Phoenix has been up for sale most of the year, and now they appear to be on their way back to Winnipeg. Detroit now faces the San Jose Sharks.
