Here it is: our first NFL picks for the playoffs.
Green Bay Packers News
The NFL playoffs are finally here, so let's take a look at the matchups.
Well, if you didn't think the replacement officiating was bad in the NFL, you probably will after Monday night.
Neither team's offense did much of anything on Thursday night, but it was the Packers that came out on top with an impressive defensive effort against the Bears.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was awarded the AP NFL Most Valubale Player award on Saturday night.
It appears that the absence of All-Pro receiver Greg Jennings from the Packers' lineup hurt a little more than expected. Never mind that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown touchdowns to over 10 receivers. Never mind that the Packers average over 30 points per game.
The Kansas City Chiefs paid no mind to the stats on Sunday as they handed the Green Bay Packers their first loss of the season, winning at Arrowhead Stadium over the Packers 19-14.
It wasn't turnovers that lost the game for the Packers. Neither team had one.
The Green Bay Packers are currently 13-0. The 2007 New England Patriots finished the regular season with a perfect 16-0 record, only to lose in the Super Bowl to the New York Giants. The only team to finish a perfect season and win the Super Bowl is the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
With all that said, the question that has been asked since week 9 of the season is: Can the Packers finish their perfect season and then roll to a Super Bowl win?
I say - definitely.
For the past few weeks, the debate has raged - mostly one-sided - as to whether or not Ndamukong Suh, defensive lineman for the Detroit Lions, is a dirty player.
Thanksgiving Day wasn't Suh's day.
The debate will continue to rage after the Lions' Thursday game against the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers looked good. They looked like Super Bowl champions.
In fact, they set a record for the most number of points scored by defending Super Bowl champions in their opening game, beating the Saints 42-34.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers squared off against Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
Aaron Rodgers can rest easy. He'll no longer be compared to Brett Favre.
On Super Bowl Sunday, Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to a win in the biggest game of the year over the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-25.
Vince Lombardi returns to Green Bay.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Jets Sunday night to go to their third Super Bowl in six years. They won the other two.
The Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears - a battle between two of football's most storied franchises and one of the most heated rivalries in the game - to go to their first Super Bowl since Brett Favre took them to back-to-back Super Bowls in '97-'98.
There were two major upsets this weekend in the NFL playoffs. The first happened in the NFC, as the Green Bay Packers - the remaining wild card team in the NFC - beat the No. 1 seed Atlanta Falcons.
While the first quarter seemed to hint at a close game, the Packers scored 28 points in the second quarter to take a 28-14 lead at halftime.
The divisional round of the NFL playoffs begins Saturday.
Saturday begins with one of the most intense rivalries in football today. The Baltimore Ravens will be entering Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (4:30 ET on CBS).
