They’ve been touring with Kings of Leon, arguably one of the biggest acts in rock music today, for the nearly 3 years. They’ve also toured with The Kooks, Tokyo Police Club, Toadies, Dead Confederate, My Morning Jacket, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Franz Ferdinand and Band of Skulls.

The Whigs have played New Orleans Voodoo Fest, Bonnaroo Festival, Sasquatch! Festival, Bumbershoot Festival, SXSW Festival, several European festivals and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. All this in addition to several TV spots including the Late Show with David Letterman and the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon.

They released their debut album Give ‘Em All a Big Fat Lip independently, earning them the praise as “the best unsigned band in the world”, but later signed with ATO Records and the album was re-released. Their second album Mission Control was released in 2008 to critical acclaim. With singles like “Kill Me Carolyne” and “Hundred/Million”, their third album In the Dark has given The Whigs massive exposure in the rock world.

Right now, The Whigs are supporting Kings of Leon once again with The Black Keys, another great garage-rock band. With this tour, The Whigs look to gain the notoriety they’ve deserved.

The tour continues tomorrow at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC and they will finish off Crossroads Cafe in Huntsville, AL Oct. 9, with an appearance at New Orleans’s Voodoo Experience Oct. 30.

Other stops on the amphitheatre tour include Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta Sept. 15, House of Blues in New Orleans Sept. 21, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston Sept. 22 and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis.

While they will be supporting Kings of Leon with the Black Keys for most of this tour, they also have solo shows in select locations including Emo’s in Austin Sept. 24, Cox Capital Theatre in Macon, GA Oct. 7 and their hometown Athens, GA at 40 Watt Club Oct. 8. Nelson is a mainstay in American pop culture. His throaty, raspy, undeniably-controlled voice is one of the most recognizable in music history. He was a part of country music’s first platinum album, along with Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter and Tompall Glaser.

He was a part of the group The Highwaymen, which included Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash. His list of collaborations extends well beyond the boundaries of country music into rock, reggae, pop, jazz, swing and folk, among others. He is one of the most respected and well-liked musicians of all time.

But music isn’t his only bag, so to speak. He gained a great deal of success in the ’80s acting and has since made cameos and smaller appearances in many, many movies and TV shows. He is also a well-respected activist and founder of Farm Aid, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. He is also an outspoken advocate for marijuana.

At 77, Willie’s still got it. His tour continued yesterday at Red Butte Garden in Salt Lake City and finishes up (possibly) at Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK Nov. 27. Tickets for the latter go on sale Sept. 22.

At about 6:30am this morning police were called to the scene of a car crash near Brady’s home. The accident involved an Audi Sedan and a minivan. Brady was driving the Sedan and was treated at the scene. A passenger of the other vehicle had to be freed with the Jaws of Life and taken to Brigham & Women’s Hospital with serious injuries, although they are not considered life-threatening.

Brady arrived at the stadium later this morning and was involved in training as well as meetings as the team plan for their Sunday season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

“He didn’t make it seem like it was anything serious,” outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain said of coach Bill Belichick’s remarks to the team. “I saw [Brady] a little while ago and he looks OK. I saw him walking in, he had a smile on his face, no abrasions. I think he’s fine. That was my first reaction.”

Some of you may be wondering what happens to the show that was originally scheduled for Sept. 14 in Asheville at the Orange Peel. This show has been moved to the 16th and original tickets will be honored. Refunds are available until Sept. 15 at 5pm local time.

The Whigs have also made accommodations in their schedule to continue their tour with The Black Keys.

According to Brad Fischetti, another member of LFO, Cronin underwent chemotherapy in 2005, but the disease resurfaced in 2007 and 2008, which resulted in a stem cell transplant. He then had a stroke that some believe to be a result of the stem cell transplant.

The group was founded in 1995 by Cronin, Fischetti and Brian “Brizz” Gillis. Cronin was the primary songwriter of the group and wrote, along with producers, LFO’s claim to fame “Summer Girls” and “Girl on TV”.

LFO only produced 2 albums, one in 1999 and the other in 2001. Both “Summer Girls” and “Girl on TV” were on their first album. They went on hiatus in 2003 and announced a reunion in 2009, but broke up again several months later.

Cronin went on to do several side projects, but none of them were successful. He was also a part of VH1’s “Mission: Man Band”.

On the DMB website, the band stated their reasoning behind taking the year off. “As we feel the excitement building for this summer, we wanted to let everyone know that after twenty years of consecutive touring, Dave Matthews Band will be taking 2011 off. We feel lucky that our tours are a part of so many people’s lives, and wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible. We’re excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.”

The Warehouse, DMB’s official fan club, gives fans the first opportunity to get tickets, which is today Sept. 9. It’s a full 13 days before the general public can get their tickets. The pre-sale will go on until Sept. 20, and fans will be limited to 4 tickets per member, per show.

The added dates begin at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY Nov.2 and ends with a two-night engagement at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA Nov. 19-20.

Other stops include two nights at TD Garden in Boston Nov. 9-10, two nights at Madison Square Garden in NYC Nov. 12-13 and Philips Arena in Atlanta Nov. 16.

The lyrics of “Airplane” suggest that the rapper has been at it a long time. He sings about his mixtapes being overlooked and being poor. But, he started to gain recognition in 2007 for collaborations with T.I. when he was just 18 years old.

His debut album B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray was released early in April 2010 after the success of “Nothin’ On You” featuring Bruno Mars and subsequent #1 ranking on Billboard charts. The album sold 84,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts as well. The single “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore followed with a #2 ranking on the Billboard charts. And now, with the success of the 4th single of the debut “Magic” featuring Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, B.o.B has etched himself into rap superstardom.

Other collaborations on the album include Eminem, Lupe Fiasco and T.I.

Radio airplay is nice, but without an ‘in’ in other forms of media, it is difficult to continue success. B.o.B has no problem there, though. He’s been nominated for BET Awards, Teen Choice Awards and VMA’s and will also be performing at the VMA’s. He appeared at Lollapalooza in August and will support Paramore on their November tour in the UK. “Airplanes” was also featured in the movie Charlie St. Cloud starring fellow 22-year old Zac Efron and “Magic” won B.o.B his very own Adidas commercial.

The SHOOTiN for the Stars Tour continues at the House of Blues in LA Sept. 11 and ends Oct. 30 in Washington D.C. at a Grey Goose Event.

Ra Ra Riot released their second album The Orchard on August 24 this year to favorable reviews.

The group got its start in Syracuse, New York and after getting noticed by SPIN magazine, the band’s career took off with the release of their first self-titled EP. They’ve toured with The Editors and Tokyo Police Club, and despite the tragic drowning of their original drummer John Ryan Pike in 2007, released their first album The Rhumb Line in August of 2008.

Ra Ra Riot is known for it’s energetic shows, chemistry and excellent song craftsmanship. The group includes a violinist, Rebecca Zeller and cellist Alexandra Lawn, as well as vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, guitarist Milo Bonnaci  and drummer Gabriel Duquette. And it is with this structure that they are able to play a variety of musical styles, along with continuous changing of their songs through the 3 EP’s they’ve released.

Their tour begins Sept. 14 in Baltimore at Soundgarden after making an appearance at Music Festival North-West Sept. 9 and finishes Nov. 20 in Winnipeg at The Garrick Centre.

Those waiting for her to announce her US dates won’t have to wait long. They may have to wait a while to actually see her, though. Tickets to the European tour dates go on sale Sept. 13 along with the U.K. dates, but the shows in Europe are not until February 2011. The U.K. dates are in April.
